
Jonathan Spivey
CEO
Jonathan’s background is as a civil engineer with experience in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia on water resources, waste water, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
He joined SAGE AG in 1996 as a Project Manager largely involved with West African markets. He was part of the design team for the Capital Dredging (to -12.5 m LAT) of the Bonny Channel and subsequent annual maintenance dredging campaigns which included channel and aids to navigation design and the contract letting, administration and supervision for the hydrographic and dredging work.
Jonathan helped establish CARES in 2002 and continued work with the NPA, NLNG and MPNU on the Bonny Channel and other dredging and infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
In 2004 Jonathan represented CARES as Environmental Manager on the 60 million-m3 platform reclamation for the New Doha International Airport. At peak production a total of 11 TSHDs and CSDs were employed on the project.
With Jonathan as Regional Manager, CARES were awarded two prestigious dredging consultancy projects at Lagos and Port Harcourt in Nigeria in 2005. The work involves supervision of capital and maintenance dredging and associated hydrographic control surveys as well as consultancy services to the port authorities relating to optimisation of maintenance dredging and expansion of the channels.
Jonathan completed dredging consultancy projects at QIT, Imo River, Escravos, Brass and Lagos as well as project and commercial management of many offshore geotechnical investigations for the oil and gas industry and offshore windfarms throughout the world before taking on a managerial role for CARES Group.
