CARES has the capability to carry out Gap Analysis studies on behalf of asset owners to identify any shortfalls in obligations to clients or shortfalls in legal requirements.
Gap Analysis studies may also aid conflict resolution where an asset owner and contractor have differences of opinion. Findings will be highlighted and a common ground will be sought by both parties, primarily based on such findings.
An example of past Gap Analysis:
Example A:
A rig had been operating for over 20 years and was due to be removed for dismantling. As it had been in one position for decades, secured by anchors, much of her navigational equipment had been taken off and as a legal requirement, a Gap Analysis was provided to highlight what would be required to safely move the rig off location
Example B:
A vessel operator had agreed to build 3 new vessels for a long-term contract. Halfway through the build, confusion arose as the builder assumed the vessels were to be built to a certain standard, with the Norwegian client expecting them to be built to a higher standard, resulting in a contractual conflict. An analysis was carried out to ascertain what was already built with regards to the vessel builders standard and what was missing with regards to the Norwegian standard (red and blue book).
With decades of marine experience in the offshore and renewable sectors along with qualified surveyors CARES is in prime position to carry out any Gap Analysis requirements.
