Conduct a 2-day Proving Navigation Simulation Study (NSSP) for an LNG design vessel’s access to a potential new quay development at Middle Creek, port of Lagos
Bridport Energy are considering opening an LNG capability at LADOL Freezone. The quay design includes a 380m quay wall; the intention is to berth a host vessel with LNG’s berthing alongside. Prior to the construction, they require an LNG proving simulation to identify the feasibility for vessel access.
CARES Maritime Division was commissioned to:
• Prove whether a design vessel (DV) can access to and from the quay development.
• Establish a broad appreciation of the levels of maritime safety risk to the design LNG vessel and the port.
• Develop operational baseline statements to boundary the vessel’s operating limits
• Identify key Pinch Point areas on the harbour passage that require investigation.
• Develop vessel-oriented ‘enabling activities’ that are likely to be needed for the development and operations to go ahead on the ground.
