Tema Port Construction Environmental Management

CARES Group was appointed to develop a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) for the construction of a new container terminal in Tema Port in line with the requirements of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Meridian Port Services (MPS) has finalised a Concession Extension Agreement with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) for the phased construction of a new container terminal at Tema Port.
China Harbour Engineering Company, Ghana (CHEC) were the Contractor for the Marine Works component of the construction works, which includes dredging activities, breakwater construction, reclamation works and quay wall construction.
CARES Group was appointed by CHEC to assist in the process of developing the CEMP to meet the requirements of the IFC and Ghanaian Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
