Technical Audit of the Bonny Channel Company

The Bonny Channel is Nigeria’s backbone to oil and gas exports and provides the sole marine access to Port Harcourt, Onne and the Oil and Gas Terminals on Bonny Island.
The duty of managing the channel has been awarded to a public/private joint venture, the Bonny Channel Company (BCC).
CARES Group was responsible for the technical audit of the work carried out by BCC on behalf of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The work being carried out by BCC is for the maintenance of the navigation channels of the Bonny River up to Port Harcourt and including Onne Port, (dredging), Hydrographic survey, Maintenance of the Aids to Navigation and Wreck Removal.
CARES group was appointed to provide supervision of dredging, hydrographic survey supervision, bathymetric survey, wreck removal supervision, supervision of maintenance of aids to navigation and supervision of environmental monitoring.
CARES Group’ involvement with the management of the Channel since the 1997 capital dredging is testament to our commitment to the continued successful operation of the channel for the benefit of all users.
