Rannoch Mini Hydro

In July 2008, Hydroplan UK submitted on behalf of Ardtornish Estate Company Ltd an application for consent to construct and operate a hydroelectric station with a generating capacity of up to 1.5 megawatts at Rannoch River near Claggan.

In accordance with the Reservoirs Act CARES undertook a check of the design of the dam, and also planned and supervised pressure grouting works on the foundations at the dam to ensure the integrity of the foundations. A limited site investigation was also carried out.

Group was commissioned to provide the following consultancy, guidance and supervision services in accordance with the Reservoirs Act.

Responsibilities included the supervision of the coring and pressure grouting contract, and the administration of contract and contractors.
