Port Dredgeability Analysis

A new port was proposed to be developed on the East coast of Uruguay, about 200km east of the capital city of Montevideo near the town of Rocha.
To support this proposed development CARES Group was commissioned to carry out a Conceptual Overview.
A Geotechnical Investigation was carried out using the vessel the MV Investigator, a four-point moored permanently mobilised geotechnical drilling and survey vessel. A total of twelve boreholes were completed between September and October 2013.
The results of the geotechnical investigation were used during the Conceptual Overview to provide an assessment of the soil parameters; including their dredge ability and suitability for use as fill during the port construction.
CARES Group also provided recommendations for the most suitable dredging equipment and recommendations were made for the foundations for the port structures.
