Pecan Project Environmental And Social Due Diligence

The Ghana Deep Water Tano – Cape Three Points (DWT/ CTP) block is located approximately 13km offshore of Ghana. Aker Energy is planning to develop the Pecan Field using a spread-moored Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. Acting as a sub-consultant to RINA Consulting, CARES has been involved in an Independent Environmental, Safety, and Social (ES&S) Due Diligence Review to identify whether the Project and any Associated Facilities (as defined by International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standard 1) meets applicable national requirements and international standards. CARES was responsible for assessing compliance with the local permitting process including the status of licenses and permits. CARES was also responsible for assessing compliance with the IFC Performance Standard 3: Resource Efficiency and Pollution Prevention. Gaps identified were reported and an Environmental, Safety, and Social Action Plan developed.
