ASPM Ltd, Nigeria have constructed a new fuelling jetty in the Apapa Channel, port of Lagos. The project’s key objectives are to enhance maritime ship and port safety risk by establishing the largest vessel that can safely access the jetty given specific environmental and operational conditions.

CARES Group Maritime Division was commissioned:

• To design a bespoke, real-time and evidenced navigation simulation structure to assess ship tanker access to the ASPM fuel jetty.
• To train and expose two NPA pilots (observed by the Lagos Harbour Master) in ship-handling for arrival and departure manoeuvre scenarios.
