Marine Access Planning

AP Moller Terminals wished to determine if their Container Terminal in Apapa, Lagos was capable of handling the increased demand for larger container vessels.
To determine whether the increased demand could be met CARES Group was commissioned to carry out a number of studies related to Marine Access Planning.
CARES Group work under the contract included Navigational Simulation Studies and design for a new quay layout.
The Simulation Study was carried out in order to determine whether or not the larger container vessels could safely access and unload at the terminal berths.
CARES Group design for the new quay layout provided deeper quays and included Ship-to-Shore (STS) Cranes. The STS cranes would allow the larger vessels to be unloaded efficiently and at the maximum draft.
