Geotechnical Investigation at the Thilawa Container Terminal

Main Banner

Specialised geotechnical investigations were needed at the Thilawa Container Terminal, Myanmar (Berths 10 & 11) for the piling of a new jetty.
The project involved boreholes to a depth of 40 metres with thin wall piston samplers to recover undisturbed samples of the soft silts and clays.
In association with ABC Drilling of Myanmar CARES Group conducted supervision of effective stress testing of soil samples.
Supervision was carried out both locally and within the laboratory in the UK.
