Review Irrigation Scheme Designs, Design of Seed Farm, Tender Support and Construction Supervision.
The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) is implementing the Expanded Rice Production Project (ERPP) in Morogoro region, with funding by the Global Agricultural and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and supervised by the World Bank. The objective of the project is to increase the productivity and production of rice among smallholders in targeted areas and contribute significantly to improving food security and increasing incomes for large numbers of low income, rural households. The project has four main components:
Phase I of the assignment involved a design review of four irrigation schemes, which were designed by the National Irrigation Commission (NIRC), design of the Kilangali Seed Farm, preparation of tender documents and participation in the tendering process.
Phase II will involve supervision of the construction/ rehabilitation of all five irrigation schemes.
