Environmental Monitoring to Support FPSO Fabrication

The Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv) had granted approval for development of an FPSO fabrication yard and quay wall construction project in the LADOL Free Zone on the basis that the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) would be fully implemented.

The EMP included measures that would be implemented in order to enhance the potential positive impacts of the project whilst minimising/mitigating against the potential negative impacts.

These measures were due to be implemented across various stages of the project development; from the site preparation works, operations, through to decommissioning and abandonment.
In order to ensure that the various mitigation measures were effective, CARES Group was commissioned to carry out environmental monitoring in line with the Environmental Monitoring Programme approved by the FMEnv.
Parameters for monitoring included noise, air quality, soil and sediment, surface water, groundwater and ecology and will be reported on a monthly and quarterly basis.
