AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN

To be part of the team responsible for design and management of civil infrastructure consultancy works with a maritime emphasis. Job Description The work involved is for an experienced Autocad Technician, with a proven track record and capability. The job is based in CARES Group regional headquarters in Ikoyi. Qualified to HNC/ HND level or above, fully conversant with AutoCAD with a background in producing drawings and design management of civil / building infrastructure consultancy works, mostly with a maritime emphasis marine. Able to produce RC and steel general arrangement drawings and collaborate with engineering colleagues to deliver accurate and timely work. He/she must have good organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and with minimum supervision, comfortable with working in a team environment with initiative. Previous experience is likely to have been in a similar role with an established consultant.
The technician will:
- Receive project briefs from the engineering team.
- Your focus will be on the production of structural general arrangement, layout and detail drawings using AutoCAD. The workload will cover a range of civil and structural topics associated mainly with maritime structures though you may sometimes be involved with water infrastructure and mainstream building structures.
- Assist in managing design, providing technical and administrative support as required to the team.
- Be expected to work hours as required for the project, typically five days / week.
- Report to the Associate Director – Engineering also based in Lagos. The successful candidate will have a recognised technical qualification and 10 years’ solid relevant experience in infrastructure consultancy.
- For overseas candidates, experience in working in West Africa is required and proficiency in the English language.
- The position could also suit a Nigerian candidate looking to relocate to Lagos.

- 24 month contract renewable after 12 months’ subject to satisfactorily completing an initial probation period of 3 months, which may be extended under certain circumstances. After this, one months’ notice from either party will be given to terminate the contract.
