CARES has been involved in all aspects of Maritime and Coastal Engineering since it was founded. Staff have world-class expertise in hydrographic data collection, environmental assessments, geotechnical engineering and dredging technology. We have well established links with specialists who join project teams to provide hydrodynamic modelling of waves and sediment processes, environmental monitoring and other expert services as required for each project.

CARES has been involved in all stages of maritime project. We have carried out initial data collection and feasibility studies leading to assessment of the viability of a projects and advice on the appropriate method of procurement. We have then been responsible for detailed design, including where appropriate additional data collection and mathematical modelling. Environmental assessments and approvals are an important feature of most maritime projects, and we have been involved in all aspects of EIAs, leading up to environmental approvals. During the construction phase we provide site supervision and contractual management, together with environmental monitoring of site activities to ensure that they conform to the agreed standards.

CARES also have long term appointments with Port Authorities to provide technical auditing of their maritime operations, and providing technical assistance as required.
