Dredging and Wreck Removal

CARES are leading Dredging Consultants, with a particular and long standing presence in West Africa, where we are active on a number of significant projects throughout the region. CARES provides dredging consultancy services to a number of clients, including major oil companies, ports authorities and coastal communities. Our in house specialist skills and experience include dredging assessments. CARES can offer feasibility studies including environmental assessments.

We are involved with capital dredging and current projects include work for new jetties and deepening of channels in existing ports. For maintenance dredging CARES have undertaken optimisation studies to assist planning the most effective and economical approach to maintenance dredging – working with nature. We carry out Monitoring Surveys with In and Out surveys for volume determinations. Recent work undertaken in Nigeria includes cost and production estimating and evaluation of dredging plant to CIRIA and other Guidelines. CARES draft specifications and contract conditions with full tender documents and bidding process undertaken for dredging of the Bonny Channel and Imo River, Nigeria. As part of our work we assess dredging risk. CARES have undertaken assessments for wreck removal at a number of localities in Nigeria. CARES can offer full studies into siltation regimes making full use of numerical predictive modelling.
