CARES take pride in delivering training customised to meet client specific requirements. In particular
recent training has included interactive workshops with contribution from renowned expert speakers and facilitators
blending international expert opinion with in-country case studies and topical local content. CARES continue to
provide an expanding portfolio of training and continuing professional development support services. CARES have
been actively supporting Hydrographic capacity building through a dedicated training programme. Course content
combines hands on training in survey techniques including bathymetric survey and geo-morphological and Metocean
sampling techniques, training in chart production and updating via a collaboration with the UK Hydrographic office,
and training in Hypack survey information management software including specialist dredge volume calculations.
CARES have recently facilitated a milestone event with senior representatives from pilotage district boards of
Nigeria to support hazard identification as part of formal safety assessment and the development of a blueprint to
support the adoption of a port marine safety code in Nigeria.
CARES training includes participation from members of the wider port community including other parastatals
including NIMASA, and the Federal Ministry of Transport together with diverse business functions within the port
authority including Marine Operations, Engineering, Hydrography, Legal and HSE teams.
CARES have also recently assisted in the specification and review of dual bridge simulation training for
LPG carrier pilots and tug masters.
